I don't use my 18 Ga nailer much anymore. It sinks pins perfectly in both Oak and pine right out of the box. Just got the nailer (pinner). last week. Love the "invisible" holes, and my dog really appreciates the lower noise level.
My only disappointment is that the 23-gauge fasteners are not commonly found at Home Depot or Lowes. The driven pins are virtually invisible and work equally well in soft wood or the most dense hardwood. Great product.Bob Bartlow Carpentry/woodworking is my hobby and I use several air nailers on projects ranging from light construction and remodeling to furniture. The Bostitch 23-gauge pin nailer proved to be what I needed for work on furniture projects. However, they are easy to order from Amazon and a pack of 3,000 will last a long, long time.
It leaves a very small hole which is hard to detect without looking for it. Would highly recommend it. Used this to attach the trim and door stops when installing the interior doors of my house. Used it alot without any problems.
Bostitch makes the best tools for my money. This is a sweet gun. Bostitch has a loyal customer for life.
I drove 1" pins into red oak and they went fully below the surface. I had read other reviews about it not fully seating the pins but never found this to be the case. I found myself almost firing into the air when moving from one position to another.Good price and good range of pins driven.Well satisfied and would do it again. I received this pin nailer as a birthday gift and have used it mostly for nailing very small pieces together for children's toys. I am very impressed with the ease of use and smooth handling. When set to the lighter setting they did protrude but that was expected.Care must be used with the trigger arrangement but this is common for these machines.
